Eglise Saint Aignan

History :
In a sheltered valley, this small rural village is situated on the road linking the Chateaux of Chenonceau and Montpoupon.
Sites :
Saint Aignan Church :
In 816 the church belonged to the abbey of Villeloin. The choir and the north of the church possibly dates from the 12th c. The nave which is very narrow with a ceiling of six vaults is rare. Close to the statue of St Vincent is the saints ''horn'', nearly 2 meters high.
Saint Aignan spring :
Opposite the church, a staircase leads under the chapel to a pool wich collects the water from the spring. The waters claim to have healing properties.
