CHENONCEAUX VILLAGE

CHENONCEAUX

This charming village has kept an architecture from centuries past in a number of areas. From the square in front of the church can be seen the Pages House of François 1st, built in the 16th c. and in the church itself, the baptismal font donated by Catherine de Medicis.
On the way to the castle, a plaque is installed on the old town hall in memory of the famous Dr. Bretonneau who was mayor around 1850. Another unusual site is the gate keeper's house, a listed building and the only one built by the castle in pure Gothic style.
