The name of Athéé comes from the early Gaule name of "Attegia" in the area are a number of prehistoric sites.


Saint Romain Church: dating between the 11th and 15th century, it's bell-tower is a listed monument.

The Magnanerie Tower: this was a silkworm farm behing the church.
The Brandon Tower: This 19m high tower is found on a private estate 4 km south west of the village.
Gallo Roman Fontenay Aqueduct: This collected water from several springs to the south west of Bléré and fed the town of Tours (Ceasarodunum). The remains are found close to the Cher.
